What is an AWS Security Engineer? And how to become one?
Amazon Web Services is famously taking cognizance of security. AWS Security constantly innovates and invents to enable their clients to build secure services at AWS scale.
AWS Security Engineers are members of AWS’s The Proactive Security Team. An AWS Security Engineer looks across the areas of hardware, networking, and human operations, to identify risks and propose mitigations. The team proactively identifies vulnerabilities and creating solutions across the entire lifecycle of the datacenter.
While performing hands-on threat modeling, risk assessment, by assessing systems, networks and infrastructure environments for vulnerabilities, AWS Security Engineers are also responsible of understanding where logical controls thwart physical and remote attackers. Creating security findings, recommending appropriate mitigations and designing durable mechanisms to validate security state are huge parts of the job.
