Advance your existing network infrastructure knowledge and skills to gain the capability required to successfully control, manage and deliver major infrastructure projects.

The five-day Certified Network Infrastructure Technician (CNIT®) program develops the knowledge and practical skills required to perform the diverse responsibilities involved in delivering complex network infrastructure projects on site.

Throughout the program, learners strengthen their supervisory and management capabilities through a series of detailed case studies. They develop the knowledge and understanding needed to interpret complex design documentation, establish effective relationships and communication with key project stakeholders, and manage the complete project implementation lifecycle from start to finish.

Learners also develop their capabilities in logistics and resource management while addressing essential areas such as team health and safety, project risks, and issues that may affect successful delivery. A certified CNIT® professional is expected to approach escalations and problem resolution confidently when working on strategic network infrastructure projects.

The program also explores how current and emerging networking technologies can influence project delivery. This includes technologies such as wireless access, security systems and VoIP, together with their impact on infrastructure implementation.

Learners develop detailed knowledge of the technical parameters associated with cable testing and build confidence in managing escalations raised by installation teams carrying out testing activities. Practical understanding is also developed around managing test records through cloud-based applications, covering the process from initial cable testing through to the delivery of warranty certificates to the customer.

Upon successful completion, learners will be able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge, competency and confidence when supervising and delivering complex infrastructure projects. They will be equipped to improve efficiency in both time and cost while maintaining a strong focus on quality and accuracy, supporting successful project closure within the required schedule and budget.

Certified CNIT® professionals must also consider compliance requirements and develop a thorough understanding of relevant national and international regulations, codes and standards. During the program, learners are given valuable opportunities to access and review current industry standards.

Following completion of the program, learners are encouraged to continue their professional development. By progressing through The Global Digital Infrastructure Education Framework, they can further develop their knowledge and skills and work towards additional recognised certifications and qualifications that support career advancement throughout the network infrastructure and data centre sectors.
