Candidates preparing for the BCS certificate examination should expect to spend approximately 60–90 minutes each evening revising course content and working through example examination questions.

An internet-enabled device such as a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone may be required for revision activities.

Candidates sitting a BCS examination must bring valid photographic identification.

Candidates who do not provide acceptable photographic identification may not be permitted to sit the examination.
