Lean Six Sigma is a practical process improvement approach focused on delivering what customers truly value while making effective use of employee knowledge and experience.

Lean Six Sigma improvement projects aim to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality, increase process capability, shorten process cycle times, and remove waste. The overall goal is to deliver customer requirements more consistently and efficiently, leading to improved customer satisfaction.

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Practitioner course provides participants with the skills required to plan, manage, and complete real DMAIC improvement projects. The programme covers project planning, team-based problem solving, process analysis, and improvement strategies.

Training combines instructor-led learning with interactive group activities and practical exercises. Examples are primarily drawn from service-based environments to help learners relate the methods to real business situations.

The programme also includes a refresher of key Yellow Belt concepts. Participants who have previously completed Yellow Belt training are encouraged to gain several months of practical experience before progressing to Green Belt level.

Prerequisites

The main emphasis of this course is the practical application of Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methods to genuine improvement projects within the participant’s own organisation.

There are two common entry routes.

Previous Yellow Belt Training

The Green Belt course revisits the core material covered at Yellow Belt level before building on it with more advanced tools and techniques.

Participants who have already completed Yellow Belt training are encouraged to apply the methodology in their workplace before attending Green Belt training. A period of approximately three months between the two courses can be beneficial.

No Previous Lean Six Sigma Training

Completion of Yellow Belt training is not mandatory. The Green Belt programme includes the foundational material normally covered at Yellow Belt level, allowing learners to enter directly at Green Belt.

Green Belt Project Preparation

At Green Belt level, participants are expected to lead at least one genuine improvement project as part of the accreditation process.

For this reason, learners are encouraged to bring a potential Lean Six Sigma project from their own organisation to the course. Different aspects of the project can be reviewed during training, and guidance is provided to help determine whether the project is appropriate for Green Belt accreditation.

Participants should also arrive with an idea of a process or business problem that could benefit from improvement.

Who Should Attend

This course is particularly suitable for:

  • Professionals who want to lead process improvement projects,
  • Individuals responsible for improving quality and efficiency,
