The ITIL®4 Specialist: IT Asset Management course is designed for IT professionals who are involved in managing costs and risks, monitoring and ensuring compliance, and good governance of IT assets.

There is 90 minute, closed book, multiple choice examination associated with this course. This exam is online and can be booked at a time of the delegate’s choosing once the course has finished and will be invigilated virtually by PeopleCert.

An ITIL 4 Foundation certificate.

Target Audience

This course is applicable for anyone who has an interest in the discipline/practice of IT asset management. This course is ideal for those individuals involved in IT asset management whether at operational or strategic levels and want to further explore how best practices can be used to aid lifecycle IT asset management.

This course can also be a used as a qualifying certificate to contribute towards the ITIL®4 Practice Manager qualification. Completion of this course constitutes 1/5th of the required knowledge to be awarded the ITIL 4 Practice Manager designation.

This course focuses on providing delegates with the understanding of the key concepts, principles, values and challenges of the IT asset management practice. It is intended to provide learners with best practice guidance at both strategic and operational levels on how to maximise value creation, control costs, manage risks across IT assets. Learners will also understand how the use of IT asset management best practices will support better decision-making about the purchase, re-use, retirement, and disposal of IT assets, including their impact on sustainability.

It also allows delegates to meet like-minded people, share experiences and learn from each other whilst taking onboard the best practice advice and guidance provided by the instructor.

The course will help learners to:

  • Understand IT asset management key concepts
  • Define IT asset management roles, responsibilities, knowledge and skills
  • Plan and manage the full lifecycle of all IT assets
  • Apply IT asset management metrics and practice success factors to improve performance
  • Measure, assess and develop IT asset management capability by using the ITIL Maturity Model
