This two-day QA authored course is designed primarily for IT professionals who have some experience with Windows Server. It is designed for professionals who will be responsible for the deployment and management of certificate servers using Windows Server 2022.

This course is also applicable to learners using Windows Server 2016 or Windows Server 2019.

Target Audience

This course is intended for IT professionals who have some experience working with Windows Server, and who are looking for a course that only covers the features of certificate services.

Before attending this course, students must have:

  • Some exposure to and experience with AD DS concepts and technologies in Windows Server 2016, 2019 or 2022
  • Experience working with and configuring Windows Server 2016, 2019 or 20226
  • Experience and an understanding of core networking technologies such as IP addressing and name resolution.
  • Experience working with and an understanding of Microsoft Hyper-V and basic server virtualization concepts.
  • An awareness of basic security best practices.
  • Hands-on working experience with Windows client operating systems such as Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10.
  • Basic experience with the Windows PowerShell command-line interface.

Delegates will learn how to

  • Understand and deploy Active Directory Certificate Services.
  • Deploy and manage certificate templates.
  • Understand additional supporting certificate role services.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Active Directory Certificate Services.

Module 1 Introducing and deploying Active Directory Certificate Services

This module introduces the reason for certificate solutions in an organisation and how to deploy Active Directory Certificate Services. Day to day management tools are introduced.

  • Exercise – Deploy and manage Active Directory Certificate Services.

Module 2 Deploying and managing certificate templates

This module looks at the use of certificates in an organisation, the different ways certificates can be made available to users and devices and how individual certificates can be managed.

  • Exercise – Manage certificate templates and enrolment.

Module 3 Additional ADCS role services

This module covers the additional certificate services capabilities of Web enrolment, webservice and policy web service, network device enrolment service and the online responder.

  • Exercise – Deploy additional certificate services capabilities

Module 4 Troubleshoot and maintain Active Directory Certificate services

This module looks at common issues with certificate services and how to troubleshoot, alongside renewing CA certificates and how a CA could be backed up or moved.

  • Exercise – Manage certificate revocation, backup and move the CA

Windows Server 2022 - Certificate Authority Training Course in Norway
