An intensive generic hands on IP foundation. The course focuses on all parts of IP networking: layer 2 on switches, layer 3 on routers and layer 4 on transport. Layers 5 to 7 are also covered.

Delegates will build and troubleshoot routed and switched networks, as well as VLANs and InterVLAN routing. Hands on sessions are used to reinforce the theory rather than teach any specific manufacturer’s equipment.

This course is also ideal for IT professionals from other backgrounds who are finding IP is more involved in their work.

This course also teaches how to subnet numbers in seconds

None.

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Use ping, traceroute and other tools to diagnose faults on a network.
  • Configure IP on PCs and routers.
  • Plan IP addresses and subnets.
  • Analyse IP and TCP packets using an analyser.
  • Troubleshoot TCP/IP.
