Windows 11 Overview for the IT Professional Training in Germany

Windows 11 is a modern Microsoft client operating system that introduces a range of features and improvements that organizations should understand as part of their desktop and device management strategy.

Because Windows 11 is built on the same core foundation as Windows 10, organizations already using and managing Windows 10 can move to Windows 11 through a relatively natural transition. The operating system introduces enhancements focused on end-user productivity, stronger security, and support for today’s hybrid working environments.

Many existing investments in update management and device management can continue to be used with Windows 11. A large number of applications and management tools already used with Windows 10 remain relevant, and many existing security settings and policies can also be applied to Windows 11 devices.

Windows Autopilot can be used to support zero-touch deployment and enroll Windows devices into Microsoft Endpoint Manager. Windows 11 can also be used in Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 environments.

This one-day course is designed to give IT professionals an introduction to the key new features, security capabilities, and modern management approaches available in Windows 11.

Participants should have:

• Working knowledge of a Windows client operating system such as Windows 7 or Windows 10
• A good understanding of common computer security threats
• A conceptual understanding of mobile device management

Throughout the course, the instructor will demonstrate a range of Windows 11 features. Optional lab exercises are also available.

These labs may be completed using a free trial tenancy created by the participant. Microsoft may require a valid credit card to create a 30-day free tenancy. The tenancy must be cancelled within the trial period to avoid possible charges. The Microsoft 365 trial tenancy signup and billing process is outside the control of the training provider.

This one-day course is intended for IT professionals who want an introduction to the main new features and management capabilities available in Windows 11.

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

• Identify key security features available in Windows 11.
• Understand how Windows 11 devices can be configured and managed using Intune.

Module 1 – User Interface

This module provides a broad exploration of the Windows 11 user interface.

Participants will:

• Explore the Windows 11 UI in detail.
• Build confidence navigating different interface elements.
• Improve their ability to support users who have customized desktop or File Explorer settings.
• Reinforce learning through two hands-on lab sessions.

Module 2 – Security Features

This module introduces the core security capabilities built into Windows 11.

Participants will:

• Understand mandatory Windows 11 security technologies such as UEFI and TPM.
• Review the main Windows Security features.
• Gain an overview of additional Microsoft security tools.
• Develop an understanding of the purpose and role of these security capabilities without going into extensive technical depth.

Module 3 – Windows 11 Management in Modern Environments

This module focuses on managing Windows 11 devices in contemporary enterprise environments.

Participants will:

• Explore the role of Entra ID.
• Learn how Users and Groups are created and managed.
• Understand how devices are enrolled into Entra and Intune.
• Review Compliance Policies.
• Explore Configuration Policies.
• Examine Conditional Access.
• Learn about Windows update management.

These topics are supported by demonstrations throughout the module.
