The IPv6 Fundamentals training course is an instructor led presentation course that provides an introduction to the latest version of the Internet Protocol. The technical skills and knowledge gained through the theory and practical training sessions can be used as a starter course before moving on to specific manufacturer courses.

Although the IPv6 Fundamentals course is generic in nature, it uses Cisco routers and various Operating Systems in a virtual environment in the practical training sessions in order to acquaint delegates with construction of routed networks and Operating Systems setup.

  • Delegates should be familiar with MS Windows desktop and command line operations.

  • Delegates should also have an appreciation of the Internet Protocol version 4.

  • Ideally they will have attended the Introduction to Networking (www.qa.com/QAINTNET) course and the Advanced TCPIP (www.qa.com/QAADVTCP) course or have similar experience.

At the end of this course you will be able to understand:

  • IPv6 Addressing
  • IPv6 Address Configuration
  • IPv6 Implementation
  • IPv6 Internetworking
  • The IPv6 Header
  • Migrating to IPv6
  • Security in IPv6
