12 REASONS TO GET YOUR TOGAF CERTIFICATE

12 REASONS TO GET YOUR TOGAF CERTIFICATE

What is TOGAF?

TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) is a developmental method used to plan and design IT architectures of businesses. The first version of TOGAF was based on the Technical Architecture Framework and was developed by the US Department of Defense in 1995. Soon the Defense Department transferred the framework to the Open Group Institute, who is still running it.

TOGAF helps organizations develop IT architectures that meet their needs. Trained TOGAF experts are in contact with the managers of many departments and assist in the fast and effective design and implementation of IT strategy.

Why is TOGAF used?

TOGAF takes a high-level approach to the framework that a firm uses to plan, design, implement and manage its corporate architecture. Enterprise architecture is divided into four different areas (data, technology, application and business) and is heavily linked to existing standard products and technologies.

Organizations that use open systems building blogs and implement or plan enterprise-wide technical infrastructure to support critical business applications benefit from using TOGAF. Organizations that design and implement architectures using TOGAF principles enjoy design and procurement specifications that help facilitate the implementation of open systems by reducing risks. Additionally, TOGAF 9 training and certification is also very useful for those who want to work in IoT projects.

What Do TOGAF Certified Professionals Do?

TOGAF certified specialists are seen as “facilitators” by solving complex technical processes. Developers and technical managers acquire TOGAF certification to specialize in corporate architecture principles and to draw their career paths towards architect or senior architect positions.

Enterprise architects (EA) create long-term IT strategies that support organizations' overall business strategies. They create the technology and applications roadmap to guide the organization based on TOGAF standards for technology infrastructure. Enterprise architects are responsible for defining all aspects of the technological flow and ensuring that IT and IT-enabled processes run smoothly from start to finish.

Generally, when working on transformational programs in various portfolios and managing a range of different meetings and projects, the following is needed:

-Architectural Strategy: all aspects of IT architecture, including baseline identification, transformation, and the path to follow with strategy.

- Architectural Review Boards: periodic meetings where changes to be made in the existing architecture are discussed and approved.

-Portfolio Management: deals with the state and health of IT architecture.

- Board of Directors: a meeting of partners, where the standards, policies and protocols to be followed, especially regarding security and needs, are determined.

-Technology Life Cycles: determines how changes and modeling will be implemented for the various technologies used by the organization.
