Develop a sustainability strategy and practical business implementation plan that supports the transformation of a data centre towards a credible long-term sustainability lifecycle. Explore innovative approaches that challenge established business practices while remaining sensitive to operational risk and business continuity.
Growing awareness of the urgent need to build and maintain a more sustainable future, together with continuously evolving legislation, is placing increasing pressure on data centre operators. Organisations are expected to adopt effective sustainability strategies, improve their environmental credentials and demonstrate measurable progress to customers, investors and other stakeholders.
The Certified Data Centre Sustainability Professional (CDCSP®) program provides in-depth knowledge of the steps required to evaluate, analyse, plan, implement and monitor a sustainability strategy for data centre facilities while maintaining an appropriate balance with operational capability.
Sustainability is considered from a broad range of perspectives, with the continuing ability of the critical data centre facility to support business requirements remaining a central priority. The program examines the importance of establishing an appropriate strategic vision and identifying the business drivers required to create a balanced and structured approach to sustainability.
The program covers the journey from developing the initial business case through to analysing power distribution, cooling systems, IT hardware and potential operational risks. It also considers design innovation and the implementation of sustainability initiatives while recognising the business and operational challenges that may arise during the transformation process.
Maintenance strategies, continual planning cycles and critical performance analysis against established targets are also explored. Particular attention is given to the need to demonstrate measurable Return on Investment (ROI) while identifying and maximising the wider business, customer, social and environmental benefits that can result from an effective sustainability strategy.
Certified CDCSP® professionals are expected to understand relevant compliance requirements, including applicable national and international regulations, codes and standards. During the program, learners have an opportunity to access and review current industry standards.
Following completion, learners are encouraged to continue their professional development. Progression through The Global Digital Infrastructure Education Framework supports further recognised certifications and qualifications and provides career development opportunities throughout the network infrastructure and data centre sectors.
